Description:
This lithograph depicts a side of the National Palace, which is crumbling after the Federalist revolt of July 1840. A wall has nearly fallen away completely, with a mangled balcony railing. A pair of bystanding soldiers are positioned near the wall, as well as several civilians that appear to be looking onward at it calmly. One of the soldiers is interacting with a civilian, with his hand extended towards the civilian's back.
