Curation

This exhibit was curated by Hannah Neuhauser, a 2025 PhD in Musicology with a Portfolio in Museum Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation, The Hums of Childhood, explores how pastoralism became the quintessential technique from musical adaptations of British and American children’s literature. Excerpts of her work have been transformed into a Children’s Recital for Austin Public Libraries, a research guide on “Children’s Literature” for the Harry Ransom Center, and a special topics course dedicated to children’s music and culture (UT Austin, Spring 2025). When not presenting at conferences like American Musicological Society or Children’s Literature Association, she volunteers at Hideout Improv Theatre for their summer camp programs.

This exhibit is sponsored by the 2024 Rainwater Grant.
