In 1927, Carlos Eduardo Castaneda became librarian of the Genaro Garcia Collection, which became the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection. During his tenure he oversaw many major acquisitions of materials from all over Latin America. In that spirit, we present a selection of stories from our librarians from recent trips across the globe. Building world class collections can be made up of chance encounters and unexpected detours.
